Month: May 2003

  • I’m havin’ a real bad day.

  • Into the Woods…Sondheim…

No one here to guide you
    Now your on your own
    Only me beside you
    Still your not alone
    No one is alone
    Truly no one is alone

    Sometimes people leave you
    Half way through the wood
    Others may deceive you
    You decide what’s good
    You decide alone
    But no one is alone

    People make mistakes
    Fathers mothers
    People make mistakes
    Holding to their own
    Thinking they’re alone
    Honor their mistakes
    Everybody makes
    One another’s
    Terrible mistakes
    Witches can be right
    Giants can be good
    You decide what’s right
    You decide what’s good

    Just remember
    Someone is on your side
    Someone else is not
    While you’re seeing your side
    Maybe you forgot
    They are not alone
    No one is alone

Hard to see the light now
    Just don’t let it go
Things will turn out right now
    We can make it so
    Someone is on your side
    No one is alone

  • When people speak badly of you, you should respond in this way: Keep a steady heart and don’t reply with harsh words. Practice letting go of resentment and accepting that the other’s hostility is the spur to your understanding. Be kind, adopt a generous standpoint, treat your enemy as a friend, and suffuse all your world with affectionate thoughts, far-reaching and widespread, limitless and free from hate. In this state you should try to remain.

or as the Power Puff Girls would say:

you can’t hurt me with the things that you do,
I pick a dandelion and I give it to you…

  • planning the party…

had to rent this today, so we’d have it for next month’s partay:

my kids are so freaking lucky!

oh, and it’s going to be a harry potter party.  I don’t know how dalmations (dogmations, as my son used to say) fit into the harry potter theme, but I doubt they’ll turn up their noses at it.  the oldsters are going lazertagging in the evening.

two kids with birthdays within a week of each other…and incompatible age groups…and different genders.  still, I think we’re working it out.
