  • I Ain’t Got Nothin’ But The Blues

    Duke Ellington, Jimmy Witherspoon

Ain’t got the change of a nickel
Ain’t got no bounce in my shoes
Ain’t go no fancy to tickle
I ain’t got nothing but the blues

Ain’t got no coffee that is perking
Ain’t got no winnings to lose
Ain’t got a dream that is working
I ain’t got nothing but the blues

When trumpets flare up I keep my hair up
I just can’t make it come down
Believe me pappy, I can’t get happy
Since my ever lovin’ baby left town

Ain’t got no rest in my slumbers
Ain’t got no feelings to bruise
    Ain’t got no telephone number
I ain’t got nothing but the blues

The band is jumpin’ the folx are rompin’
I just can’t let my hair down
believe me Bridget, I can’t get with it
Since my little baby left town

Ain’t got no house in Westchester
Ain’ got no Chris Craft Cruise
Ain’t no Count Basie with Lester
I ain’t got nothin’ but the blues

Composed by Duke Ellington, Don George and Larry Fotine

    for highdesertlola:

A monk asked, ‘If on the road one meets a person of the Way, how could one respond to that person with neither words nor silence?’

Daopi said, ‘With kicks and punches.’

  • By realizing that all forms are self-awareness,
I have beheld my consort’s face– the true Mind Within.

  • okay, for those who were interested,
here is the explanation of the tattoo:

The writing is Tibetan, it says om mani padme hum.
The Dalai Lama has a really great explanation here .
Personally, looking at what I’ve been able to find, I interpret it to be internalize the jewel in the lotus.

See the divine in the natural
    it is
inseperable from your (for lack of a better term)
    buddha nature

I am not afilliated with any religeon but my own, which has no rules (see zensluts.com). *

    So, anyway…
the inner petals of the lotus symbolize the eightfold path, which I think is a great guide.  The outer petals are just pretty

The yellow circles are my special people… my soulmates, as it were.

The blue trisk is for my children.

The om in green and black is the center of my being.

All these, taken as a whole are a stylized representation of a world within a lotus.  A jewel…

    We are all One.

…and then the new one, the green star, that’s for my personality.  wait for it…

    SUPERSTAR!

my leo got sick of all that pisces shit…

    *this is a JOKE
anyone who attempts to use it against me
    in a court of law
    will undoubtedly go to hell
or be cursed with toe-curling body odor
    and fleas
