So,
we went to see Harry, ajustb and I…
I sat in the hotel bar waiting for her, sipping tequila and working on charts (formerprincess and thane’s to be exact). I kept turning around to watch golf on the tv. it was as much pretense as anything else, since I felt rather pretentious sitting there with my ruler mapping out transits. …trying to visually fit in, as it were, even though I really don’t. I guess it didn’t help that I was wearing a huge straw gardening hat. I could have taken it off but then there’d have been no where to put it.
I walked into the lobby just as she was walking through the doors. blah blah blah, yatta yatta… we walked from the hotel to the park on a really nifty trail. we were passed by a couple on matching bikes. he was talking on a cell phone… and while I really found that funny, who the hell cares? like I don’t talk on my cell phone? whatever…
we got there after it started, which was fine. neither of us could believe how incredibly pod-peopleish it was. the crowd had no energy whatsoever and apparently Harry had just woken up (he said as much). the music was great, of course, but we wandered a lot. one of the beer garden gaurds detained me to discuss my tattoo. then we stalked some guy with a laptop. I continually embarrassed alex by loudly making comments. “hey, do you mind if I xanga on that for a minute?” heh. he’d walk away and we’d follow. then we’d walk away and he’d follow. it was fun.
the only time the crowd ever woke up was at the very end. the encore was great. we walked back with the orange moon. gorgeous. in all, a fab time, well, except for the three fly bites I suffered. I didn’t notice them at first, but the next day they became incredibly painful, swelled to gargantuan proportions, and burst, killing several innocent bystanders by virtue of their pure putrescence. sort of. anyway, they’re kind of better now and I think I owe alex an email.
LOVE YOU BABY! sorry I’m such a flake!
