It was years ago, now, I started this page to tell Mary a story.
We shared many stories, most of them sad.
Sometimes I need to remind myself that her story is not over.Mary had my password and wrote me secret notes:
“Hmm – you seemed kinda down in your e-mails yesterday. What you need is a good stalking. Yes, that’s the thing! (Putting on my best John Cleese accent) Consider yourself properly stalked – rightio!”Though the birth of our friendship was fraught with emotion
I never had reason to question its worth;
Ushered in as it was, a magnetic devotion–
What could have been maudlin was peppered with mirth.
Such rash similarities haunted our pairing;
We managed to navigate wave apon wave.
“Pain shared is pain halved” with no room for despairing,
The drowning one finding the other to save.
You went down one last time withought giving me warning;
You’d proven so tough I’d abandoned the fray.
I never gave voice to my pang of foreboding–
I betrayed my own cowardess: nothing to say.
Just how could I tell you there’s no use to fight?
Either way I would lose you, even if I was right.

LOVE
This is beautiful.
(just like you)
She touched a lot of lives around these parts – I’m glad I knew of her at all. And I’m glad that you wound up here
Very beautiful tribute.
if someone feels half that warmly about me when i go, i’ll consider my life a success. this was just gorgeous. i’m sorry you had to write it, and i’m so glad that you shared.
Love.
Lovely.
That is beautiful, Satori. David’s blog about Mary was also a refreshingly honest tribute.
I’m glad you shared this and I hope that is’s eased some of your pain.
