“baby’s named a bad, bad thing”
I don’t remember how I happened on this link but it gave me some much needed coffee-snarfing guffaws, particularly the last three entries on this page:
I’ve always had a fascination with naming things and names in general.
I wanted to name BabyJane “Paladin” if she was a boy. nobody was down with that, obvs. “have gun will travel reads the card of a man” what’s not to love? I know, I know. hormones man.

I actually am rather fond of the name Millicent, which hearkens back to a misheard song lyric from the late 80′s early 90′s which I sadly cannot recall. The song title or artist is lost to me but it was one of the moaning/slurring kind which lead to the error, when I heard the word Millicent rather than the word, “Medicine” which was what the singer was actually singing, I was so taken with the name that I promised myself if I ever did have a daughter that I would name her Millicent as I think it’s simply lovely.
It could have been worse, I suppose… you could have wanted to name a boy, “Carlton Hotel” rather than Paladin.
Are you preggers? Or is this just name thing.
Odetta is my fav name

A tangential note – the nurse at the hospital misspelled my middle name on my birth certificate – and as a result I have a masculine (French) middle name.
I decided I like it! Heh.
