last night we had scotty over. scotty just has to be the neetest kid ever (that I didn’t birth). we’ve known scotty since dylan’s first soccer team long ago. he’s wittiest kid, dry even. he treats me like a normal person, as opposed to how most kids treat grownups. I could just eat him up.
anyway, he and dylan are off golfing at the moment.
they had to make their own pancakes this morning because just as I was dropping the batter onto the griddle, em started yelling… the baby was barfing. I discerned from “the evidence” that she and her sister had scarfed some illicit candy (dots) left over from movie night last night. I don’t think they’ll ever sneak candy for breakfast again. well, not for a few days, anyway.
I spent some time on the internet finding out that this metallic taste I’ve had in my mouth for days now (which just keeps getting worse) is likely the result of taking ibuprofen. oddly enough, it’s neurological in origin. weird.
I had thought I was being so healthy taking drugs for pain… normally I just wait for the pain to go away. I wouldn’t take anything unless it was just horrible. turns out my first way of doing things may have been the right way. bleah, everything tastes like tinfoil, even water. in fact, the AIR even tastes bad. you’d think that would help me stay away from food, wouldn’t you. nope, I just have to keep trying.
these m&m’s taste like nickels.

aww stupid m&m’s
sorry for the pain, barfing and nasty taste in your mouth.
I hope your weekend gets better!
well, for the sake of being thorough, i’m on aspirin, and these nikels don’t taste like M&Ms either…
oh…wait…
I’ve heard that about some b-vitamins and I definitely have that problem with allergy meds (gah! I need those!)
Try something that’s metabolized a different way.
Aspirin or acetaminophen might give you the same relief without the nasty taste.
And here I thought you had a date with the Tin Man, Dorothy. *smile*
I guess this kind of goes with my comment to your comment over in my world. Yeah, I’m crazy but I’m happy.
Mmmmm….chocolatey, candy-coated nickely goodness.
Too bad they taste like nickels and not antique silver dollars worth lots of money…too bad the m&m’s aren’t antique silver dollars worth lots of money…
Happy weekend! It’s the Equinox!

Ugh, because when you need ibuprofen, you need ibuprofen.. here, the average tab is 200mg. The max is 400mg. The ones my housemate gave me when I was sobbing and unable to walk? 600mg. She’s Spanish, and they’re not even prescription. I got three straight hours sleep and it was the most I’d had in a week. I could’ve kissed her! I didn’t get a funny taste, though, despite being on those for a while..
I hope it goes away soon.
You know what nickles taste like? Holy Hannah woman! I’ve simply gotta hang out with you some time. You live on the wild side sister.
Everyone has a ‘Scotty’ in their life at some point. They’re amazing people, these. And you know, it is as it should be…too many like them and we’d start to think them passe…and that simply wouldn’t be right. They’re unique and precious…like you Lara girl…like you.
All my heart (and fresh, clean water),
Timothy
I’m good with pain too…except when I have to move my own morphine drip..then I get a little irk…you know
i take 800mg for my migraines, but no metallic taste. (i just wrote “no metallica taste”, and while that’s technically accurate as well, it definitely calls to mind some interesting imagery…)
i was taking aspirin last year for my toothache, though, and i was so frigging nauseous i didn’t eat for about three days. if you’re looking to kick that nasty 3-square-a-day habit, aspirin’s the way to go, baby.
i was thinking about what post-dot puke must look like, and then i decided i’d rather think about metallica again. it’s really less disturbing.
smoooch.
whereas my m&m’s for brekkie mearly taste salty. (it’s coz I nabbed them from the trail mix).
can henry b see dyl sometime this weekend? he’s dying to see/hear dyl on his guitar.
Never had the metallic taste from taking Ibuprofen. You shouldn’t know what nickels taste like, though. Doing that can result in any number of other ailments.
I’ve had soooo mannnnyyyyy kids here this weekend that don’t belong to me I’m going nuts.
oh please may I survive the march break and these extra kids go home.
Haven’t had a metallic taste from ibuprofen that I’ve noticed. They work good for headaches. they are really good when combined with tylonal for a very, very, bad headache.
I don’t usually do meds, but become a wimp with a headache.
nickel m&m’s . . . ::snort::
