  • honestly, this effexor shit’s a little freaky.  physically the effects remind me mightily of acid… not huge, just the edge, you know?  it totally blunts any interest I might’ve had in eating.  the literature harps a lot on watching the patient for suicidal ideation when starting or changing the dose…

I’m a little askeered.  but I’ll ride it out.  one bb I looked at mentioned some MAJOR problems for some people getting off of it.  flu-like symptoms… and even the drug’s website mentioned the withdrawel side effect of electric shock-like sensations in the head.

it’s a good thing this is also an anti-anxiety drug.  I’m a little fucking tweaked.

  • YIPES!! Sounds scary!  be careful.

Now I will worry about you.

Heh, the crack pipe is helping hon!  I wont step away!  I WONT!

  • I had headaches & dizziness coming off of it. Fuck, if it had made me not interested in eating, I would have stayed on it for that reason alone.

  • that quack doctor tried to get me to take effexor…. i was scared of it.

i hope it has the intended effect.

  • yikes. when do the anti-depressant effects kick in? now? I always thought it took about 2 weeks or something.
Sounds like the side effects are meningitis.

  • a friend of mine had extremely good results with effexor and while she had some symptoms when going off it, it helped her to be aware of what to expect and she was able to get through a few days after which she was fine.

good for you getting some support.

  • hang in, Lara. Hang on. Sending lots of love.

  • yikes!  Hang in there for a week maybe and see if it calms down?

  • I’ve been on Effexor since this past Spring and I have to tell you it’s been awesome.  It took away my appetite for the first month or so and then that side-effect disappeared.

I hope it works well for you.  I swear by it – for me…

    Sum

  • damn, i could use a little help with the appetite thing myself…

ride the waves, you’re bound to get your bearings soon!

  • ooooOOOooooooooOOOOoooh

want some bright shiny object to play with?

  • give it to us… our PRECIOUS!

  • Beedie beedie beedie… buubbut Buck!

  • That’s a little freaky.  I’ve never had symptoms like that when starting an anti-depressant….

True, I’ve only been on two in my life, but I fear the day my Prozac stops working (please god, NO!)

  • I am thinking healthy thoughts for you…you are describing effects and side effects that make my poor drug-adled brain wonder how much more dangerous straight up amphetamines would be…but I’m not suggesting that as a serious course of action.  Hang in there, I have to have a sappy friend night with you soon.
